Unions illegally donated to Maggie Hassan in 2012 and 2014

There is trouble in paradise. Democratic Governor Maggie Hassan’s love for illegal money from unions is causing her bad publicity. According to the Democratic New Hampshire Attorney General’s office, the Plumbers and Steamfitters union gave Maggie an illegal $25,000 donation in 2012. The Democratic Attorney General also ruled that Maggie received $33,000 in illegal donations from unions this year. This is the same attorney general that Maggie Hassan hand picked for the office.

How did all of this first come to light? The New Hampshire Republican Party filed complaints with the New Hampshire Attorney General. Thank you Republicans for uncovering these dirty money scandals.

Here was what Maggie’s campaign said about the issue in July. Someone either doesn’t know the law, or lied to the Concord Monitor.

“We are confident that all contributions are in line with past precedent under New Hampshire law and advice that campaigns and contributors have received from the Attorney General’s office and the Secretary of State’s office over the years,” campaign spokesman Aaron Jacobs said in a statement.
