The Union Leader deserves some credit for covering the HB146 victory

July 3, 2012

The Union Leader is the New Hampshire state newspaper. It tends to lean conservative. Perhaps that’s why the online edition of the Union Leader carried articles about the new New Hampshire fully informed jury law, HB146, not once, but twice. After all, the New Hampshire Republican Platform does say, “Support jurors being instructed on the right of jury nullification.” On June 30th, the Union Leader featured an article about the new law from Reason.com. On July 3rd, the Union Leader featured an article about HB146 passing from the Cato Institute.

Good work Union Leader.

For anyone that doesn’t quite understand what HB146 is, see the earlier post on New Hampshire Freedom about it.

The online edition of the Union Leader, the NH state paper, covered this issue again. Perhaps someone at the Union Leader is working hard to inform the NH public about NH146 passing and about jury rights in general?

On July 7th, the online edition of the Union Leader again carried the July 3rd article by the Cato Institute about HB146 becoming law in New Hampshire.
